James Burton grew up in Shreveport and he achieved national fame in Elvis Presley's "TCB Band" from 1969 until Presley's death in 1977. Burton’s rocking blues style of lead guitar playing was first demonstrated on Dale Hawkins’ original 1957 hit version of the classic song, "Susie Q." James Burton was inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame in 2007 as a member of the famous Los Angeles recording session group named the Wrecking Crew that was repeatedly used by Phil Spector and many other record producers.
