Imagine the challenge: if you’re part of this challenge, you’ll be writing, casting, directing, rehearsing, and performing six short plays in twenty-four hours! Even if you don’t think you have the patience to take on the challenge, there’s not doubt that it will be interesting to watch. Starting at 7pm on Friday, March 27th, brave souls will be embarking on the creative competition, and on Saturday, the 28th, all of us will be watching.

Actors, writers, directors, and technicians are presently the target of the search by Sculpted Entertainment, the artistic company that is putting on the festival. Formed in the fall of 2007, the company has grown into several divisions including film, theatre, educational, video production, and murder mystery dinner theatre. The company already has the next few years planned, and is proud to provide jobs to the talented theatre and film industry in Louisiana.

As part of this festival, writers will be put into small groups and will have all of Friday to write the scripts. At 7am on Saturday, the scripts will move to the hands of the director, who will cast from a pool of actors that audition that morning. Rehearsals for six short plays will take place all day, and then the performances will begin promptly at 7pm for all of Shreveport to see!

This showcase of the six finished plays will be taking place at the Bossier Arts Council, so cross your fingers for the actors, writers, directors, and technicians involved in such a suspenseful project! The festival is being sponsored by Rob Blackmon Photography, Johnny’s Pizza, Starbucks, and Quizno’s Subs.
