Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover and Police Chief Henry Whitehorn warn parents and students that police will strictly enforce curfew and loitering violations.

It is a shame there has to be a curfew law to keep young people from gathering somewhere for a good time and just to hangout, but as we all know gatherings in certain parts of town have led to violence, including murder, on many an occasion.

I'm having a joepole moment. Is it really necessary for the Police to announce that they are going to enforce the law? Shouldn't that go without saying?
