Well it looks like the SBlive poll was 50% correct. I'm surprised more people didn't vote on that. But then the overall voter turnout wasn't much better. The runoff should be interesting. May I suggest a poll for the runoff?

The Great Race

Both men seem honest and hard working but Cedric is definately more entertaining and that is what we want in our elected officials, right? (See Joe Shyne)

I could be WAY off on this, but it seems to me the job of Mayor of Shreveport is nothing more than being like an "Ambassador" of sorts. Their job, helping to bring in new businesses. I'm sure there's more to it, when you get down to the day to day operations.. but I think this has to be one of the more important jobs as far as the outlook of the city goes. and I'm not sure who's more qualified to do that, for I have not seen either one of these guys speak about ANYTHING. Don't watch enough local t.v. I guess.

I heard a Jerry Jones ad last week state that Shreveport is a billion dollars in debt with a shrinking population. Anyone know if this is anywhere close to being accurate? At 200,000 population, that would be $5000 for every man, woman, and child in Shreveport. I wonder what the stats are for Bossier?

Well here's a Shreveport Times article that talks about that a bit..

Shreveport's debt will limit next mayor's abilities to meet needs

When is a $137 million available line of credit not a lot of money? When it's matched against $1 billion in municipal needs, from water and sewer lines to streets.
