The cold facts about global warming
The global warming people are in fact on a political mission. Nuts like Al Gore
and Michael Moore and many others think that man has caused global warming and we are doomed in ten years. Sound like a election season is upon us well here is a link to the facts. http://www.canadafreepress.com/2007/...ming020507.htm Isaac |

Well, take it for what it's worth.
Scientist: Humans 'very likely' cause of global warming Quote:

Right here in Shreveport, we've seen fewer and fewer ice storms or any significant "Snow" compared to even when I was in highschool in the early 80's. The ice caps are IN FACT breaking away and melting.. as they do Ocean levels rise, more Water means more absorption of the suns rays.. and as more and more of the ice caps melt and break away, this means less and less of the suns rays are getting reflected back into space. Meaning the warmer it gets, the more ice caps that melt, the faster the temps will continue to rise. I'm almost of the opinion, that regardless of what we try to do, we have passed the tipping point, past the point of no return. It's simply gonna get warmer, some places will experience droughts, others will see increasingly stronger and more frequent storms due to the warming oceans. Then in a few 1,000s and 1,000s of years, as all those ice caps melt into our oceans, all that fresh water will slow down or eliminate the "Gulf Stream" type flows in the oceans.. which will in turn make Europe and north america Colder.. and bring on a whole new Ice Age.. so we got that goin' for us party on.

Polar ice caps in the North don't affect ocean levels because the ice is already in the water, as opposed to the Souther polar ice, which sits on land and, if melted, would raise ocean levels. The exception in the North is Greenland, but that isn't technically an "ice cap" and isn't large enough to worry about, anyway.

I side with the fact that the climate cycles and always has and always will and just because a politician uses it for a platform does not make global warming a real problem. Matter changes forms all the time and what is here has been here all along and in a ever changing form. This issue comes up at my house as my eldest daughter a Centenary Grad thinks we are melting
She is still young. Isaac |

When water freezes into ice, it expands. When ice melts into water, it shrinks. So that little tip of ice that is above the water probably represents the tiny amount of expansion/contraction enough to cancel out the effect of raising the sea level. At least that is my theory.

Melting ice does not increase in volume the total amount of water, it shrinks the exact amount that was previously sticking above the surface. Do the math, you'll see it has to be this way.

What is wrong with trying to prevent global warming just in case they are right?

the MASS remains the same no matter what, only the density changes..
Now you can see past the tip of the ice berg rhertz. Dont mess with Joe when it comes to higher math or anything else far as that goes. Just kidding Joe know how well educated you are glad you are here to keep us all in line.
