Ha! Ofcourse I remember the Frito Bandito! I remember as a child noticing that we'd not seen or heard of the Frito Bandito for some time, and my mother explaining to me that the Mexican community, up in arms over the perceived slight, had forced Frito Lay to "retire" the colorful character from their advertisements. Thus, the Bandito became one of the first victims of "political correctness".

As I was watching that youtube video, I was reminded of some of the old speedy consales (sp?) cartoon. And it would always display all the other mexican mice as lazy and drunk.

Speedy Gonzales wasn't before my time, but Frito Bandito definitely was. I've never heard of him in my life.
