Chandler district spokesman Terry Locke said the crude sketch was "absolutely considered a threat," and that threatening words or pictures are punishable.

This is total B.S. from a complete and total moron at the school.

To me, it looks like the kid has merely seen the Sylvester Stallone movie, Judge Dredd. It's a very cool and very funny movie. The drawing looks a lot like the LawGiver2 guns they use in the movie. They are very awesome, but very fictional, weapons.



When I was a kid, I drew movie scenes all the time in school. I drew fighter jet combat scenes from Iron Eagle on the backs of my worksheets, but I never stole an F-16 and went shooting. Those school officials need to get their facts straight!

Imagine that the boy's father was serving in Iraq with a firearm. If the boy brought a picture or drawing of his Dad to school, would he be suspended?

Well if true, then that's just sick. We tax ourselves to fund a military to defend our freedom. We train the best soldiers in the world and send them to do their job. Then we tax ourselves for a socialistic school system to educate the public. If the school suspended a student for a picture of Dad with a gun defending our country, the school should be brought up on charges of treason IMHO.

Oh and BTW, doesn't our constitution guarantee the right to bear arms? I would think that would include pictures of arms.... It's sad to see our rights slip away one by one, and it is hard to imagine the world we might live in 50 years from now. Will it be legal to hunt or fish? Or even shoot skeet? Will my offspring be able to have a martini with dinner? Or smoke a cigar afterwards if they choose? Will McDonalds be allowed to sell Hot Coffee or fatty foods? As the old saying goes, the road to Hell is paved with good intentions. That should be the government motto as it grows bigger and bigger.

They actually had a lawyer on FoxNews this morning arguing that if they had taken this kind of stand with the boys at Columbine that tragedy might have been prevented. I don't recall that those two boys were out drawing pictures of guns. They had actual guns.

Pokey, this story just reeks of political correctness. Even though bows and arrows and guns are both weapons, somehow I feel that native Americans are exempt from such foolishness. I hope it is hard to find an American history book without a picture of an Indian with bows and arrows or a knife.

Once they start rewriting the history books to be politicly correct, (to forget) we all run the risk of history repeating itself.
