9 Guns 10 People - 270 Million Firearms In US
Worldwide, civilians now have access to 650 million small arms — from handguns to semiautomatic rifles — an arsenal that far outstrips what is held by police and militaries, according to the annual Small Arms Survey. It estimates that civilians account for about three-fourths of the 875 million such weapons in circulation.

Are we surprised? More and more guns roll off the assembly line everyday.

This, by and large, a very good thing.

I dunno about that. I'd say guns are too easily obtained these days. Maybe making them more of a rarity would help.

Making them a rarity would be a very bad thing. Easy access to firearms almost always improves a society.

Tell that to Columbine. I'm not saying gun control is a smart idea. Austrailia has gun control and their homocide rate actually rose. However, maybe the law can be a little stricter about who can legally purchase a gun.
