My first plane trip was went I left for Basic training 7 years ago. When the plane was approaching the terminal, we all saw a very large rust-like patch of color across the plane. It looked so much like rust that I couldn't stop myself from making weird faces at the plane. My sister picked on me about it. As the plane got closer, it turned out to be the airline's logo which wasn't quite so scary.

>The stewardesses were so courteous and attractive back then, and everything including the passengers seemed so pleasant and professional. My how times have changed.
Deregulation was in 78. Now you get crappy service and ugly stewardesses, but it's dirt cheap. A ride on a 767 today probably costs you half or a third of what that DC-9 flight did and gets you there in half the time. People in this country want cheap more than they want good. They vote good with their mouths but cheap with their wallets. |

It takes 5 minutes just to find a parking spot and another 10 to walk the parking lot. Then you've got acres and acres of aisles to deal with, and once you find everything you need (because it's Monday and they rearranged the store again), you gotta wait to check out, because out of 50+ registers, only 3 are open. Now that's not to say I never shop at Wal-Mart....heck, I live in Natchitoches....my options are kinda limited. I dislike them because our ideas of convenience clash, not because of how they treat their employees. Nevertheless, I agree with the statement you made, just not the example you used. |

I have a brother who is a manager at a Walmart in Texas and he will agree with everything that I say and then some. The way that they treat some of their employees is horrendous to say the least. The insurance they provide their employees that are lucky enough to get it is pretty pathetic as well. They put limitations on some of the therapy for say blood disorders that their employees can get that is absolutely irresponsible to withhold necessary therapy from a patient. Most of the employees are low wage earners and yet they have high deductibles and high co insurance percentages. I could go on and on but won't. It's almost time to go shopping at TARGET!!!
