Regardless whether it's good or bad for Shreveport, I sure do feel sorry for the free enterprise owners of the Holiday Inn and Best Western having to compete with a government subsidized Hilton Hotel. The casino hotels I do not feel as sorry for since they have other revenues streams. But it isn't right that private hotels are taxed so heavily by the city and now they have to compete with it.
