LA Boardwalk requires children to have escorts after hours

The Louisiana Boardwalk will soon require children to have escorts after stores close

I admire the LA boardwalk for taking a stand and keeping their facility clean of any "riff raff" so that families and real shoppers feel comfortable going there. Whoever the owners of the boardwalk are, Shreveport should have sold the Red River District to them, or at least consult with them on how to maintain such a project so that it can succeed. Maybe Chits, Kona Joes, and all other other businesses would still be there making money.

Never happen in Shreveport

Sad to say but so true that down town Shrevesville has gone to the dogs. Shreve Square is a thing of the past and I had some great times down there in my high school days but do you feel safe down there ???

This combines two of my favorite things: children and escorts

So true, Shreve-square was the place, a mini-bourbon street, going to Humphrees, hangin' under the bridge, drinking, and dancing and laughing.

I haven't been to a club down in the Red River District or on commerce street in years !

Yeah, I lived in a nice little quiet neighborhood just off Line Ave when I was around 8-years-old. That neighborhood was a very nice place for kids. It's a slum now with crack sold on the street corner like lemonade. So much for childhood memories.

If children were normal like we were back in the 70's and 80's there wouldnt be any escorts needed.

As we use to say years ago at work, if you came to a fight in the 80's with anything other than your fists, you were a WUSS and made fun of.

Ain't that the damn truth. If you brought anything other than your fists, you'd be laughed out of the place. now a days these kids go home and get a gun and shoot the kid who splashed water on them at the public pool.. whole worlds gone crazy.

It was bare fist behind the school

Ended up being good friends after a good fight funny how that works.Young bucks we where and pecking order being laid down I guess. Then came Captain Shreve High School and integration came down and the fights got mean and sometimes dangerous but still never weapons just big groups fighting in stair well or in PE class don't miss those days. Now days they have a cop at all the schools and if they fight they go to jail and have a court date as it should be. The kids strike back so hard now when they do but gangs are a very large part of this problem. NO I do not know what to do about it. Anybody has one call Mayor Glover !

Perhaps this is part of a phenomenom of modern society. Call it "the bigger and better deal" or whatever. Each generation must outdo the last. New sports records must be set. New music must be better in some way. Every movie has to be the best movie you ever saw. Computers get better and faster. Even bicycles barely resemble their 60's couterparts. So naturally the kids must be more extreme in all types of behavoir and play basketball better, soccer better, ride bicycles better, fight better, and so on. It's all part of evolution right? :D
