The jury is still out on why the chicken crossed the road. But new research reveals an inbuilt magnetic compass guides domestic chickens when they do venture across the asphalt and other surfaces.

So why did the chicken cross the road......

Bob Dylan's Answer:
How many roads must a chicken then cross, before you call him a rooster?

Morpheus's Answer:
Neo, there is no chicken.

Foghorn Leghorn's Answer:
That chick, ah say, that chicken crossed the road on account of I was after her tail feathers.

Jack Nicholson's Answer:
'Cause it (censored) wanted to.
That's the (censored) reason.

The article said they have a inbuilt compass.

The PC answer is this:

The chicken is a brave bird, proud and strong. It is too dangerous for anyone to cross the road. We must issue a tax bond to build a walkway for chickens to walk over the road, so they do not have to cross it.
