I've went to Bonnie & Clyde Trade Days when I was a kid back when the original car in which Bonnie & Clyde were shot was on display. There was no shortage of bullet holes in it. :freaky:

Bonnie and Clyde were killed near Gibsland, LA. My dad is 87 years old. If they were killed 73 years ago, then my father was 14 at the time Bonnie and Clyde died.

Anyway, my father was born and grew up in this area of Louisiana and he arrived at the scene within hours of the ambush. The dead bodies of Bonnie and Clyde were gone by the time he arrived, but my father saw their riddled car as they were removing it from the field. I rememeber him showing me the field as a young boy.

About the time I was 14 years old, I remember paying dime or quarter to see the authentic Bonnie and Clyde car on exhibit at the Louisiana State Fair. It had 100's of bullet holes in it. I also remember seeing the black and white movie on TV when I was a kid. I thought it was cool that my dad actually saw the car THAT day....

That is cool.. sometimes these things can seem that they happened so long ago.. until we find these personal connections to them. I always consider WWII to be SO long ago.. until I talk to relatives who were there at like Iwo Jima..

Or if you've ever traced back the family tree.. don't have to go back to far before you have either Great Grandfathers, or great grandfathers older brothers who fought in the Civil War.

Ms. Sophie Stone of Ruston was kidnapped by Bonnie and Clyde and later on became my mother's Home Ec. teacher. My grandmother had photos of Bonnie and Clyde all shot up. We saw them at some point as kids and I still have those gruesome images emblazoned in my memory!:(

Swiss Cheese  There is a show on the history channel that shows much of what you are talking about. Gibsland's only claim to fame
