Oh my! Look at the numbers on that poll! The folks that wouldnt mind if their sigothers were viewing porn are a pretty sizable minority it seems.

Al Swearengen 02-28-2007 10:03 PM

I dont think this is any reflection on Joe's character...he just had the guts to admit to it! If his wife doesnt care if he views porn then why should we? She must not feel threatened by it. If only we could all boast of being that secure. Very open-minded I'd say. Besides, we all have our guilty pleasures, do we not?;) Its also occured to me that Joe might just be playing "devil's advocate" here and he really doesnt care one way or another.

Of the 1145 Unique Visitors in a day (from the home page) only 8 voted! That is a poll all in itself.

You currently have 164 rep points.. that's a good thing :)
You currently have no "rep power" That won't happen until you reach a total of 100 posts. you are currently at 98, so only 2 more posts to go!

your "rep power" indicates how much of an influence you'll have on someone's rep power when and if you choose to do so. The icon is hard to see, but on each post, under the user's name and avatar, you'll see some small icons, one of which looks like a justice "scale". Clicking on this will allow you to choose whether you approve or disapprove of someone's post. You can choose to leave an anonymous comment as well. These anonymous comments will show up on that users Profile page for them to see. Etc etc.. sounds more complicated than it is. :)

When you commit to a person romantically, then you have agreed to place the satisfaction of your romantic desires (and sexual desires) solely into your partner's hands. How you spend your free time and where you choose to dine has some such implications as well, but to a much smaller extent.

It is a matter of simple propriety. Women don't care what you read or where you eat or when you go to the movies. However, they DO care who you get your sexual kicks from, especially if it's not them.

Thanks for explaining. So, you can see what someone says about you on your profile page?

Al Swearengen 03-01-2007 12:02 AM

When I look into my lovely wife's eyes I simultaneously hear all of my favorite music, read all of my favorite books, watch all of my favorite TV shows, get drunk on all of my favorite alcoholic beverages, taste all of my favorite foods, practice all of my favorite hobbies and, ofcourse, feel all the love I'll ever need! But the sex...well, I get that on Sprague Street where all of my favorite crackwhores hang out. Its a beautiful thing!

Sorry, it's not on your "Profile" page, but if you click on "My SBLive", it will show up on that page.
If they choose to leave a comment, it will show up. The comment is anonymous, however.

Some do, many (if not most) don't. None, in my opinion, should care if their spuse looks at porn any more than they care if their husband reads Sports Illustrated or a John Grisham novel. All are trashy, worthless fun.

I have to disagree with the many if not most women don't care. The statistics and postings out there on the internet don't lie with the sad stories of how it affects their lives and relationships.

The entire problem is as you said trash, worthless fun. Any woman with dignitiy doesn't have that type of mentality.

But to each their own whatever you like and if you and your spouse agree on it, look at what you want including horses, midgets and also other animals having sex with whatever.

That may be your opinion, but this does not change the opinion of the masses who likely disagree with you and it certainly doesn't change the opinion of any woman you could enter into a relationship with. Even with the sex issue aside. Pornography is not considered a dignified activity in today's society and, as Scarlett said, a dignified woman will not like it.

So no Sports Illustrated or John Grisham in your house, either?
