I remember Rock'em Sockem Robots! "You knocked by block off!" LOL, that would make a good flash or movie clip of them talking like AnimeSpirit's Gas clip.

OK, one more. Who remembers Quick Draw Mcgraw and Baba-Looey? How about Huckleberry Hound?

LOL even better was when Quick Draw would play the Vigilante "El Kabong" :)

How 'bout when Quick Draw (A horse mind you) would come into town riding a more realistic Horse.

Showed debuted in 1959. Before my time, but I saw him in plenty of reruns.

OOOh man, El Kabong! I remember that. I remember catching about 15 min of Hanna Barbara cartoons ever morning before taking off to school. Oh and how about them "dawg bisquits"? What was that?

Would you do it for one dog bisquit?
Would you do it for two dog bisquits?

Dang who was that? After eating a dog bisquit he would float down from heaven back and forth. Really funny. Can't remember

rhertz 03-14-2007 01:23 AM

LOL, once again you nailed it. I declare you the YouTube specialist! Although I must admit that "Snuffles" doesn't ring a bell. The pictures speak a thousand words. Yeah I remember that a dawg!! :D

Does anyone rememer having a pogo stick? I had one! Also the roller skates with the key and metal wheels. You would adjust to your shoe and slide it on.

Mrs. Beasley doll was my all time favorite.

Isaac-Saxxon 03-15-2007 05:14 PM

Any Pepe Lepu fans ?

I would love to see some clips from that old one. That is another one they did not make enough of

Yup, had a pogo stick as a kid, got to where we could do some tricks with them. And we would all try and set these records.. bouncin' around for what seemed like hours it seems. Had some of those rollerskates with metal wheels on them too.. UGHH.

One of my kids got some turbo charged pogo stick for Christmas last year, I had to show them how to use it.. could actually get a few feet into the air with each hop!

You asked for it, you got it..

Al Swearengen 03-15-2007 07:42 PM

Had a friend a few houses down, back in the day (early to mid 70s)...kid had a really neat playset in his backyard...you know, like monkey bars? I was always over at that kid's house, swingin around on them damn monkey bars. After years of doin that, my hands were all calloused over and I swear to God my arms got to be about an inch or two longer, like a chimp's.:o

I remember those old steel-wheeled adjustable streetskates, too. Just slip em on over your shoes and off ya go. Yeah, time has a way of lending the past a nice rosy tint, doesnt it? Summers lasted forever...and you couldnt wait to turn 18 so you could do whatever the hell ya wanted. Think back to how active you were when you were a child, compared to now.

Isaac-Saxxon 03-15-2007 08:15 PM

That was great LN Thanks so much

Isaac-Saxxon 03-15-2007 08:56 PM

Thanks for that LN made me laugh like the kid I once was

It is great how quick you can come up with that stuff. Last request and I know you can do it. Roadrunner and the Coyote. This was a time of innocence and a much safer world. Tom and Jerry where hot only got to see them when someone was sick it ran on Sunday morning and mom did not let us miss church often.
Thanks,
Isaac

AnimeSpirit 03-15-2007 09:13 PM

You know, one of the most gut-busting antics that Foghorn Leghorn ever pulled was when he'd grab the dog's tongue and stroke it with green paint.

This was the antic I was reminded of after an incident that took place back years ago while I was in the Navy. I was a deck seaman in 1st division on the USS Spruance (destroyer 963) in Mayport, FL. For those of you who've never set foot on one, much of the topside steel on a modern Navy ship is covered with a neoprene rubber material called PCMS which aids to disguising the ship on radar. For that, we are required to paint it with a certain unordinary type of paint mixture called PCMS haze gray.

With that said, there was one day in particular when we were all sitting around a fuel station, painting the steel with PCMS haze gray on rollers. We had one tiny little female sailor by the name of Delacruz and a bulky hillbilly type sailor named Moose. The two of them were picking on each other for every reason they could find. Moose stuck his tongue out at Delacruz and she rolled his tongue with PCMS haze gray. He ran to the restroom to wash his mouth out before chasing Delacruz all over the ship for 15 minutes. The rest of us CRACKED UP, laughing at them. :D

I did not have a pogo stick but some of my friends had em so I mastered that skill pretty quick. I did have roller skates with key and metal wheels. Funny thing was that the shoe was not included! They were strap on's! Yes I recall Mrs Beasley (from Family Affair)

But what I remember the most was riding my unicycle. Several kids in the neighborhood had Schwinn unicycles and a few of us learned how to ride them! LOL, perhaps you have witnessed my unique skill?? :D

Al Swearengen 03-15-2007 11:58 PM

LateNight and I knew a guy who could ride a unicycle. A most impressive skill. Reminds me of that one caveman on the comic strip "B.C." who tools around on the stone wheel with the wooden pole thru the center.;)
