The forum isn't going Pagan as a whole, but I did drop one Pagan-oriented thread in the religious section here. Other than that, there is just this thread that is discussing Easter and it's historical significance.
However, I did notice something on my previous post on this topic. I got my holidays a little crossed. Beltane isn't our equivalent of Easter. Ostara is the Pagan Easter. Sorry for the confusion. Here is a small cut from Lady Bridget's article on this holiday. This will sound a whole lot more sensible. Quote:

Merry Christmas everyone! And don't give me any crap about Christmas trees or whatever having Pagan origins... (from either side of the equation) Things are whatever you want to make of them sometimes. Truth is relative to what we choose to believe. :D |
mention the "P" word (Pagan)

Somebody asked "Is this board going Pagan?" I hope not, if it does...I'M GONE! To whomever quoted the Bible as saying "Honor thy neighbor". It's actually "Love thy neighbor". Now you can interpret that many ways I suppose and Isaac can jump in here. I at this stage in my growth as a Christian understand it to mean that I am going to love you as another of God's creations. I do not have to accept you choosing to worship as a Pagan and I don't. It goes against everything written in God's word. I will love my fellow humans and pray for those not in God's will. I do not have to accept things they do not in God's will. It's really that simple. I can still be your friend and I will. I will have dinner with you, but I will try to lead you to a better way with prayer and by living by example. I have to "Honor" my father and mother, not you. |

Anime- I hope I did not offend you. I certainly don't mean too, but I have to answer to my God and conscience. If this board were to be devoted to and full of Pagans, I in good conscience could not participate. Since it is a diverse board, I am more than happy to and hope that I will have a positive influence on anyone reading my posts, thoughts, and opinions.
As for Brain, I will continue to pray. Really, that's about all you can do with him. |

By the by, Isaac is right. The Brain with the goofy animated avatar is not likely to be the original BrainSmashR. |
I don't care which Brain he is, his remarks are offensive in all sorts of ways.
As a Christian, I pray for God's will in your life, I pray for you to be happy, healthy, and have all the joy God desires for you. I also pray that you will come to know him. Try it, you'll like it! |
Good post Tbelle

I have tried it, actually, and I liked it for a time. When I was a kid and throughout much of my teen years, I was a devout Christian. I converted later when I decided Paganism was my truth. This was an educated decision on my part as I have had a very enlightening comparison in my experiences of the two. Pagans believe in God as well (and the Goddess), so I've long since come to know Him, but probably not the way you've come to know him yourself. Again, I have nothing against Christianity. I didn't leave the religion because of any problems I had with it. It just wasn't for me. This is a moot point though, because Christians, in fact, have much in common with Pagans and many never realize it. The lifestyle isn't any different than normal. Many of the holidays we all celebrate have Pagan-related origins, like the one we're discussing here. |
How could you say such a thing ??
