Post Droupy Drawers Illegal In South Louisiana

Lafourche Parish President Charlotte Randolph has signed an ordinance, approved 5-4 last Wednesday by the Parish Council, that makes it illegal for anyone to reveal underwear or to dress in a way that is "not becoming to his or her sex."

O.k. I'll agree this "sagging" business has gotten way out of hand.. I simply don't understand it, and I think it's stupid.. but I got a problem with this:

That sounds just a bit way to general a term for me, and way to open to interpretation.

Yes, I agree that law is way too vague and left open to be interpreted in many various ways. I am conservative about the way I think teens should dress. If I were a police officer in the mall and able to write tickets under the law, I'd be busy all day long. I'd also be very busy with lots of fully grown men and women who don't understand how to dress appropriately either. This is one of my ultimate pet peeves....dressing appropriately. It seems that people have forgotten how.

I agree with both you and Late Night but I can't stand to see boys and girls walking around with their underpants showing.

If you have a problem with the gangster look then go to the Board Walk in Bossier and you will not have to deal with it as it should be.

I don't like the gangster look, but I think it is even more sad when the government has to step in and make laws because parents fail to step in and make rules.

exactly my point.. I don't like the sagging nonsense..
If the boardwalk wants to ban such activity from their workplace.. that's their business.. and they are more likely to see some of my business because of that.

Just don't see the government defining what is appropriate dress ??

Nodding. Would that be an example of communism (extreme left) or fascism (extreme right) or both?

The history be the sag

the sag actually came from a poster of a man in prison with him bended over with his pants dropping down a little bit, hinting at the point that he was about to get raped in prison. it was propaganda to get people to start acting right and not go to jail and get raped, little did they know that it started the dumbest fashion trend ever.

There are many days when I am driving down the road and I'll see some kid walking down it with his pants sagging. I am always so tempted to stop and yell at him "Pull up your darn pants."

We had a young man delivering lunch to our office one day from Jason's Deli. His pants were sagging and our receptionist is "old school". She informed him that he had better pull his pants up and not ever come back again into the building with his "drawers" showing. He said "Yes ma'am" and he's never done it again!

If I am around someone I know and their pants are sagging don't turn your back on me because I will snatch them bad boys on down to the ankles. If you want me to see them drawers I may as well see all of it. If I am out in a store I will tell the person what pretty drawers they have on and laugh in their face.

I bet if we started giving all droopy pants wedges they would hide them drawers.
