That's too bad. I used to go there to celebrate Scorey Day.

I'm sorry to see it closed as well.. Don't go there to often, just every now and again, used to go there more often years ago.
So I read the article you posted, but I'm confused about the connection between Scorey Day and the Pete Harris Cafe ?

No connection other than that's the restaurant at which we celebrated Scorey Day.

Scorey Day is February 20th, the day we celebrate the rich life of Scorey Lee Floyd, the gentleman in the photo I posted.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you for it to reopen before Feb. I can't help but believe that someone will "step up to the plate" and buy it or reopen it.

step up to the plate

Bring your own 9 with you so you will be safe. I am sure it will reopen but in order to get the savings they had to file before 06 was up. Just a money thing and they will keep going. Take your Lipitor before you go. Good food is always bad ya know what I mean ?

Bring your Lipitor

Or you could just go home afterwards and take a hot shower, hot as you can stand it...that cholesterol will just bleed out of your pores. Yeah, its gross, but it works!

With my luck it would be the "good cholesterol" that I would loose and keep the bad. Its best to consume cold pressed oils like Olive oil. Then bad foods can actually be good for you.

hey I like tortilla chips fried in mexican lard as much as the next guy.... As a kid, I used to eat them with margarine instead of salsa. Wow, I bet that was good for me!

Oh, God, I did too. El Chico's used to have squeeze bottles of margarine out on the table. I am getting ill right now just thinking about it.

LOL, yep and I remember the little squares of margarine before that. They had the foil wrapped ones at one time, and also the plate of squares before that as I recall. I could make a meal out of chips and margarine!

BTW, I bought some chips at Krogers the other day and they only had one bag left, and I haven't seen any again since. They are called Xo Chiel (or darn close maybe Xo cheil) but it is pronouced So-cheel. They tasted great! old timey, not like Doritos. And reminded me of chips at El chico as a kid. (I don't recall seeing a zero trans fat label on the bag!) They didn't even last one day in my house. I normally don't do this sort of thing, but I may even ask the store manager about getting some more.

By all means, let the store manager know what you want. If they can get it for ya, they will.
