Mike died last night and it feels like loseing a friend. My kids have grown up with him and one of them even sleeps with a stuffed Mike. He's 5. I don't think I will tell him just yet.

So I wonder which Mike was I watching at LSU Games back in the 70's? Mike I or II or something like that probably. I'm not sure how long tigers live...

Mike III died and was replaced by Mike IV (donated by Anheuser-Busch) in 1976.

Wow, so tigers do live a long time. Thanks for the info. I probably saw both Mike III and IV, but mostly III.

Sad day for LSU fans about ole Mike but their will be another. I wounder if it would be a problem if they got one of those white green eyed tigers ? Oh no that would be racist

They are already looking for another one. My guess is they have one sighted. Mike V was semiretired after this football season. We saw him recently and he was looking skinny.

Mike at home

He has a new multimillion dollar facility that is nicer than any zoo. For some reason I can't post a picture, but you can see it at Mikethetiger.com.

I love tigers! They're so fuzzy and want to pet them. So sad when they die though.
