Louisiana Holidays

Anyone know which Dumbocrat jackass decided Fat Tuesday was more important than President's Day?

Or didn't you know today is NOT a state holiday?

Presidents' Day is one of the lamest holidays we have. I'd much rather have my mail dropped off and my trash picked up. Our Presidents are appreciated enough.

Well, I'm just patriotic enough to say that there are exceptions. Not many, but SOME of our presidents have done a superb job.

There is no Federal holiday known as "Presidents' Day," today is "Washington's Birthday." People that call it "Presidents' Day" are mistaken.

And recognizing exceptional Presidents has nothing to do with Patriotism.

The people that work for our government do not need anymore paid days off on my tax dollar. They come back from vacation and the mail and trash load did not go away and they get paid over time to catch up on their own job

You missed the point.....While the rest of the nation is enjoying it's 3-day weekend, Louisiana state employees have to work today.

We get Fat Tuesday off instead of President's Day.

The actual birthday of the guy known as George Washington, first President of the US is/was on February 22nd (adjusted for the Gregorian calendar). The Federal holiday known as "Washington's Birthday" is officially the third Monday in February. There is no Federal holiday known as "Presidents' Day."

LOL, well, I'm not going to nibble at that bait.. But I will say this. Back in the early 70's I was a First Baptist Patriot! In fact, the school actually put the vote to the students back then as I recall. I remember the ballot looking something like this:

First Baptist Tigers
First Baptist Scorpions
First Baptist Lions
First Baptist Patriots

WTF?? I don't know one classmate who voted on the Patriots.. All the guys I knew were stunned at the results. Maybe the women carried that vote! Or maybe it was rigged by the faculty? oops...
