Post Celibacy For Priests Will Not Change

Pope Benedict XVI believes Catholicism is growing sick in its historic birthplace of Western Europe, where a shortage of priests is both a symptom and an aggravating condition. But the 79-year-old pope made clear Thursday that he does not think opening up the Church to a married priesthood is the cure.

Priests and marriage

This is an intersting topic as their are some priests in the catholic church that are married ,IE...If a married protestant minister converts to catholicism.

It is the priests informed decision to accept a vow of celibacy, however it is true that the number of men entering the priesthood within our own diocese and worldwide is diminishing. There are any number of reasons that men are not seeking vocations within the church, but I do not believe it is entirely due to desire to marry.

Many Catholic priests make the switch to "Catholic Lite", ie "Anglican" or "Episcopalian" when they marry, which is a natural step.

The priests do not have to be celibate to be a minister or a Christian. I think it leads to frustration that cause pedophile problems. Strange you never here of
Nuns doing the same thing. I am not saying that Catholics are not Christians just the thing about the priests has always seem strange seeing I have yet to find it in the Bible. Maybe its there in some hidden verses ???
