Magazine names Natchitoches in top 10 places to retire

NATCHITOCHES – Natchitoches has been named one of the top 10 places to retire in the United States in a new report released by U.S. News & World Report.

Natchitoches is featured in the magazine’s 2007 annual retirement guide. U.S. News & World Report consulted with retirement experts and discovered 10 “low-cost gems” that were deemed as best bargain retirement spots. These areas were selected because they each offer good value in retirement living, according to information provided by the magazine.

Other areas included in the top 10 list were: Boone, N.C.; Dahlonega, Ga.; Fredericksburg, Texas; Kennebunk, Maine; Melbourne Beach, Fla.; Salida, Colo.; Sandpoint, Idaho; Yucca Valley, Calif. and Yuma, Ariz.

The 2007 Annual Guide can be found at www.usnews.com. The Web site features a photo gallery of images of Natchitoches as well as cost of living statistics.

Retirement Living TV will air segments on some of the retirement spots featured in the U.S. News report. These segments will air June 4-8 on Retirement Living TV’s Living Live! The one-hour show airs weekdays at 11 a.m. CST.
