Police question parents of 15-year-old surgeon

Police have questioned the parents — both doctors — of a 15-year-old boy who allegedly carried out a Caesarean section birth under their watch in southern India, a government official said Monday.
How crazy is this, I'm sorry I wuold want someone older and more experienced. This is just to get in the world record book.

Never trust an Indian doctor. It's all about the $$$$ for most of them!

It sounds like Dumb and Dumber to me...how idiotic of the parents!! I wonder if the patient was alert or under anesthesia when this occurred?

The article says they were put under before the surgery, but this is just nuts. I'm more curious about whether or not the kid actually did it right. The article said the infant had a noticable lump on its spinal cord that supposedly had nothing to do with the operation, but I'm still curious.

She was put under but who put her under the boy or the daddy. Also did the patient know the boy was the one or did the patient think one of the parents were the one doing the c-section. Uhmm.

update: Physician Parents of Teenage 'Surgeon' Who Performed Caesarean Section Arrest

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,286617,00.html

Quote:
Indian police arrested the physician parents of a 15-year-old boy who allegedly carried out a Caesarean section under their supervision in an attempt to set a world record, an official said Monday.
Well they needed to be arrested to let a child operate on another person just to get fame.

The brightest doctor in Shreveport at LSU Medical Center is of Indian decent. If I'm in a coma, I want him to bring me out of it. However to be fair I do not know about "most of them", whoever they are. I've only met the one.

Then you won't mind a 15 year old operating. Me, I want someone older with a lot of training.

Same here. There is a reason doctors go to college for 7 years or more.

Foreign Doctors

I have been embarrassed before when I couldn't understand what a foreign doctor was saying to me. Once with a Vietnamese man and again once with an Indian doctor. I realize these are highly trained men but I actually hated to ask them to repeat themselves several times because they couldn't speak English well.

So true. It makes me feel dumb because I can't understand them, and they look at you like duhhhh.
