well.. Other than I can't think of one reason why they SHOULD be combined ?
I've lived in Bossier City and Shreveport, and I think they are very two different cities in many ways. Honestly though I can't think of "good" reason not to other than the folks in Bossier City would never go through with such an idea. I think Bossier City has done well defining itself as it's own City. They chose to build the CenturyTel arena, to host the Mudbugs hockey and other shows they do there. Have done well developing their side of the riverfront.. much better than Shreveport has with their "Red River District" . And of course Bossier City has BAFB, even though the Network News likes to report this base is in Shreveport :-) Do you have any reasons why you think the cities SHOULD be combined ?? |

River Development
The city of Bossier didn't develop their riverfront, a private developer did.

a private developer did.
The Bossier City MPC had the final say on how things would be done and so
did the Shreveport MCP. It was private money on both sides of the river and it is not hard to see which side of the river has managed there resources best. There has been a major flight to Bossier north and south. The fact is that gangsters have made it unsafe every where but Shreveport has to do something about crime and no I do not have the answer. I do live in Bossier as you can tell and I was raised in Shreveport where my parents still live.I hope the new Mayor can get a grip on this problem ? Isaac |

I think "was public money on the Shreveport side" is in the proper tense. Randy James and others said they did not read the fine print on the contracts
for there project ? Isaac |

I'm waiting to hear from "Raied" to see what reasons he/she has for joining the two cities :-)
Got a group here ready and waiting to debate it to no end LOL |

In the spirit of "mergers and acquisitions", I vote for the consolidation of Shreveport and Bossier in the name of efficency and "economy of scale"! For example, if you take a look a the mayor's salary, then we are talking about a savings of 50%!! Of course I am also for the merger of AT&T and Southwestern Bell!
