Natchitoches Jazz Fest.
Didn't watch a lot of the bands on the Riverbank this past weekend, but one in particular I thought I'd mention is Gal Holiday and the Honky Tonk Revue from New Orleans.
The bass player is a Natchitoches native and one of my best friends since high school.....so don't go thinking I've suddenly made a radical change in my musical preference......but I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised and actually went to see them a second time Sat. night at one of the Front St. bar/restaurants. Who would have thought I would find 40's and 50's style "honky tonk" entertaining.....at least in a concert!?!?!?!?!?! |

You know, I saw the thread, saw who started it, and thought "Oh my goodness Brain has converted!" Then you had to go and blow it for me Brain. Glad to see though that you at least experienced some difference kind of music.

Sometimes an open mind (and a friend in the band) is all it takes. I sure bet there weren't any devil horns being waved in the air at that one.
