INDONESIA'S health ministry said it had formed a team of specialists on the president's orders to treat a villager dubbed the "Tree Man" because his body is covered in bark-like warts.

Dede, who is known by one name and whose growths on his hands are so long they cover them in long, root-like tendrils, featured in a television documentary this month.
We have formed a team of 18 specialists to handle Dede's case," she said.

They wanted to work with Anthony Gaspari, the US doctor brought in to examine him for the Discovery Channel documentary
I sure hope they can help this man, that has to be rough.:pray:

Oh that's just awful and the man's only 35! Hopefully there's something someone can do for him! I've never seen anything like this before!:(

This is a fascinatin case that broke on "Coast to coast AM" more than a week ago. I showed the pics of this man to my nurse wife and she didnt believe it was real. Turns out this guy is super susceptible to a certain strain of the Human Papiloma Virus.

Does anyone remember the movie "Creep Show" from the 80's? The movie was made up of several different segments, and one of the segments was entitled "The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verril", in which the character in the title (played by Stephen King himself) touches a meteorite that lands on his farm, which ultimately turns him into a "Tree Man"! Talk about a coinkydink!

OK, how did he get those big clubs into shirtsleeves and pant legs?
Why let them grow that long before taking evasive action?

Does Indonesia have 'socialized' medical care by chance?

Just thinking out loud......

piemaker720 11-29-2007 02:18 PM

You know it said a doctor form the USA was getting medicine for him to send over. The doctor had said if the medicine didn't work he wanted to bring the guy to the States but his country said no.
