Sheveport Times nothing but a cheap copy

I see the Shreveport Times has a story about bees now. The last cheap copy was the advent of mothers support group  Mr. English is a yellow journalist at best and the Times is for block voting democRATs in west Shreveport. What a joke. I pick up a copy Sunday and less than 20% of the entire paper was copy the rest ads. Save a tree shut down that liberal rag sheet. Maybe they should change the name to the Shreveport liar. I do think Mr. English reads this forum to get his next idea because he void of any common since. I feel better now. :D

I like KTBS because it is the only remaining locally owned news outlet. The rest are owned out-of-state (cumulus, clearchannel, gannet, etc.) What do you really expect?

Gannet tells Mr. English how to walk, talk and chew his gum. He is just a puppet and that paper is a joke. The day of the print media has come and gone and the Times may survive as a on line paper but hard copy is all but finished. In the next two to five years it will be gone. I think they see this and this is why they are being so aggressive on the net. I think they read SBLive just to get ideas and do what they do best make a cheap copy.

I think about cancelling my subscription but can't seem to quite let go.
I like Teddy Allen and Wiley Hilburn for the most part. I also like the Sunday edition with all the photos. I guess I could concede and just get the Sunday paper. I know that would make Mr. Pokie very happy!:)

KTBS is the channel I watch. It is the only news channel for me.

Mrs. Hurl only cares about the fliers. The Advocate in BR is the best paper around. They are family owned and just installed a new press. The picture quality is something Shreveport will never see in the Times. I can't complain much about the Time Picayune in NO much either. Both are available on line.

I can't stand to watch ANY local news.. it's like watching some kind of Death count or shooting count.. seems that's the only local news they report ?? not that I'm a good judge, i just don't watch the local news.. don't watch news of any kind on t.v. really.. Other than some sports channel to watch football highlights.. I get my news online, from numerous sources. Seems if I ever bother to glance at the news paper, all the stories are a few days old.

The Shreveport Times censors news more than any other news organization in this area. They have a socialist agenda and mean to take God out of everything they can and promote people on the public dole. Yellow journalism.

My newspaper never arrived today. I waited a while to give them a chance in case they slipped up due to the time change. I found a customer service number in the phone book. After punching in numerous numbers and codes I finally got a place to leave an address that they had missed a delivery. I got a robot voice saying that my paper would be deducted from my bill and that I'd receive a paper asap. I still wanted to talk to someone so tried punching the operator and of course they were unavailable! No paper ever showed up! I would think they could get their act together due to a decline in business! We are getting closer to cancelling altogether!

Bummer.. I gave up on the Times long long time ago. They used to call and ask "would you like to subscribe to the times?" I'd say yeah, they would deliver like one of them, then never show up again. This happened several times. When they call now and ask, I say "why bother, you won't deliver it!" not that I want or have time to read the paper anyways. just read most of my news online.

I've tried reading online but some of the local articles I can't find. A couple of times I've searched the Times for articles that were in the actual paper but nowhere to be found on their website or others websites. I do get alot of my news from SB Live though!:D

It is impossible* for a newspaper to censor news in an area. Self-censorship is not censorship.

*well, maybe if its employees somehow prevented other people from dispensing news. I'm envisioning some sort of ninja squad

Try TheDeadPelican.com this is all the news in La. plus links to everything else.
I quit taking the paper a long time ago, but Mrs. Hurl will go get one on Sunday. As usuall The Times ran stories it had already run during the week. My favorite was a political cartoon on one page and if you missed it there just turn the page there it is again next to an article that ran Fri.
