This is one amazing story of a little boy's adventure. |
Bless his heart. I hope we will all extend prayers for this family. I think it's horrible for any family to lose a child, but at least this family knows their baby died very happy and content with his memories.
I passed an accident this afternoon on North Market. It had just happened and it looked to me like a pedestrian had been hit by a car. I found out this evening that it was a 9 y/o child hit and the child has passed away. Please keep this family in your prayers as well. |
Maybe the idea of bear hunting was the only thing that was keeping him going. Those bastards took his dream away from him by making it a reality.

So am I the only person who finds it a little disgusting that the last dying wish of this boy was to murder something else?
|
Apparently. Shooting animals is fun.
|
I think it is more of a adrenalin rush. I am sure it made the boy happy to reach a goal he had set for himself. It sounds like he did die happy and that is a very good thing.

So is shooting cans, bottles, and targets, except they don't suffer pain and/or death as a result of being shot. Now it would be a different story if the kid was going to eat the meat or make a coat out of the fur, or the animal was impressive enough to warrant having it stuffed and mounted....but I seriously doubt that was ever the intention and the more likely scenario is that the entire carcass was discarded and I simply cannot condone the needless destruction of life for no greater purpose than entertainment. |

I don't particularly care for the killing of innocent animals either BUT I would make an acception for MY dying baby. I'd kill the bear myself if my child could die happy!:peace:

You see, that's why I don't have a problem with hunting for resources....that's what we would be doing "in the wild" anyway. |
They do not hunt trophy's just to let it rot in the woods :nono: I am sure the parents of that child had that animal processed and taxidermy-ed and will cherish it for a very long time. The population is monitored and tags are issued for a certain about of bears. The tags are for adult male bears and the hunter only gets a tag in draw the state does each year so not every one gets a tag. Game management

I don't think some people (those without children) understand how precious a child is. I have seen families with these sick children with cancer and there is not a doubt in my mind that they would do WHATEVER that child wants so it is happy. The rest of us would as well too.
