After Christmas Blues

What happened to all the coffee drinkers out there? This place was jammed before Christmas. I guess everyone is trying to rest up for New Years.
Come on in we are open.

Hey there coffeeman. I drove thru your window this morning! Excellent coffee! As for the holiday slow down, I also see the same thing on these boards and with other businesses. Holidays sometimes (temporarily) change peoples normal routines. I'm sure things will return to normal soon after the new year.

By the way, I have never had a sandwich from Courtyard Coffee. I will do my part in supporting a shreveport.com sponsor by trying one out for lunch this week.

Hey there Coffeeman

I do not drink coffee but I did not know you served food. My office is right around the corner from you. Do you have a web site or a list of what you serve there. We are always looking for a new place to lunch at.

hey Snowman. Yea they have a drivethru. I drink a lot of coffee, but I see they have some nice looking sandwiches. Fancy 'Ciabatta' (sp?) bread and made fresh. I'm surprised I haven't ordered any. I guess for me, coffee is an appetite supressant. A cup of Joe is all I need, and i'm good to go for a couple of hours. :D

Thanks for the support

Glad to know we have some coffee drinkers and local business supporters around town. A couple of you wanted to know about our sandwiches.
We try to keep it simple but we do make them to order and offer ham, turkey and chicken salad. Served on Wheat, Sourdough, Croissant or in our wraps (spinach herb, tomato basil, Jalapeno chedder) with lettuce, tomato, cheese, pickle spear and chips (Miss Vickies - original, BBQ or Jalapeno).
We aren't known as a lunch destination yet but if you want a sandwich made like you would make it at home come see us.
If you are in a hurry to work and don't want to wait in the Green Giant's drive-thru and want a better cup of coffee at a cheaper price we are the coffee shop for you.

When you come, please don't run off sit and stay awhile.

See you at Courtyard Coffee
Thanks again,
Coffeeman

I saw your ad on here and looked at your website. Next time I am in
Shreveport, I plan on having lunch there. Sorry, I am not a coffee drinker. Do you use all white meat in your chicken salad?

I ate lunch at Courtyard Coffee today. Here is a mini-review. I had a Ham and Swiss on sourdough, a Cafe Mocha (how could I resist) and a slice of Italian creme cake. Also Included chips. Total ticket: $12 (plus I left $1 tip)

When it comes to sandwiches, bread is very important to me. And the Sourdough was very good, and sliced thicker than normal sandwich bread. I would call the bread "gourmet" quality and fresh not crumbly. (Is "crumbly" a word? LOL) The lettuce and tomato were fresh, although I prefer iceberg over leaf lettuce. But it was fresh and green like lettuce should be. Ham and cheese were good. Pickle and chips were just plain ole pickle slice and bag of chips, but I don't know what else I would expect. I don't even like "kettle chips".

The Mocha was awesome as usual. Less sweet then Starbucks so I can actually taste the coffee! Definitely gourmet quality compared to "store bought" Folgers or Maxwellhouse. Isabella, if you don't drink coffee, you should try a small Cafe Mocha sometime. It is like a cafe-au-lait with some chocolate syrup in it as a sweetener. Very dessert-drink-like but with no alcohol of course. Good for after dinner as a pick me up.

The Italian creme cake was definitely "gourmet" stuff. Not something I could make out of a Duncan Hines mix. Overall, I think $12 was ok for high end coffee and dessert, plus a good sandwich with chips. My ticket would be much less with a coke or without the fancy dessert but with all those nice looking goodies, I felt in the mood to splurge a little, plus I knew I would be reporting here, so I went for it. I will be eatting there again.

Thanks for the review! Sounds like my kind of place.
