Former Televangelist Tammy Faye Messner (Baker) Dies

Tammy Faye Messner, the former televangelist and Christian singer who battled drug addiction and later inoperable cancer, died Friday morning, CNN's Larry King said Saturday night. He said the family had asked him to make the delayed announcement.

I know Tammy Faye did some bad things with husband Jim. I think they paid a heavy price in this life. Let us not be to quick to judge her soul. When someone is facing death they do some soul searching and many times that is our Fathers way of getting our attention and bringing us back in the fold. I did not agree with what they did and how they fooled so many. A fool and his or her money will soon part.

Why is she still famous?

She was a thief whose husband cheated on her. Not really worthy of consideration.

We are a media driven society. People are like water and the media like the wind and which ever way the wind blows so go the people. I would call this the swing vote. Left will stay left and right will stay right and the swing vote will vote with the media. :nono:

Tammy Faye has appeared on Larry King over the last couple of years talking about her battle with various cancers. She even appeared last week looking like a stick (it was so pitiful) in her trademark false eyelashes. I believe she truly was repentent of her past and she said she was looking forward to being with the Lord. RIP

NONE of us has the right to judge Tammy Faye, her ex husband, or their actions. If you are without sin, then go ahead by all means cast the first stone. I though will choose to celebrate her life and celebrate that today she is at peace knowing that she is not suffering. The minute she asked for forgiveness from God for her sins, it was done. That is the beauty of a forgiving God. I am so thankful he sent his son because we do get that chance everytime we fall on our face and I fall all the time.

God bless Tammy Faye and may God give her family comfort at this difficult time.

I don't steal, so I'll judge her for that.

Joe, the more you open your mouth, the more your true colors continue to shine through.

LOL.. i guess enough time has gone by, that everyone wants to come to the defense of Tammy Faye.. sure, I'm sorry she died.. but I remember all to well when her and her husband were all over the freakin' t.v.

And then he got busted.. I don't even remember what for, but I remember hearing the stories about him in prison.

They got busted for fraud, he got busted for sleeping around.

>Joe, the more you open your mouth, the more your true colors continue to shine through.

My true "I don't steal" colors are, indeed, shining through.

Were you one of the Bakers contributers to judge her for that? Did you contribute to her causes and subsequently get ripped off by the Bakers? That is different from not stealing.

joepole 07-24-2007 11:01 AM

I was about 11 when Jim Bakker (2 K's) went to jail so I didn't lose any money "investing" with them.

I don't steal, period.
