This Man Turned His Life Around In Prison
A man incarcerated for 47 years, longer than any other inmate in Louisiana's state prison, gained his freedom Thursday after Gov. Kathleen Blanco commuted his life sentence for second-degree murder.

Time for lame duck Blanco to finish abusing the office of Governor. The man committed a murder and got life in prison. Blanco is a fool and is showing her true colors once again. I would have thought Burl Cain would have better sense.

Ehh, I'm OK with releasing 73 year old inmates. Keeps us from having to pay for their housing and medical care in what is sure to me the most expensive stage of their lives. Medicare is cheaper than prison.

Didn't a 75 year old woman commit murder in London last month?

So the victims life meant nothing ?

This man has obviously turned his life around. He has been able to even impact the inmates around him as much as that is possible. I believe he deserves the chance to get out and share his story. You never know what life he can touch and perhaps make a difference. Just because he committed one murder doesn't make him a serial killer. Furthermore, God forgives us shouldn't we forgive him and allow him to move forward?

The Bible would dictate that someone that commits murder should be dispatched by a family member or the law. I do not doubt that this man repented and that is great for his eternal soul but he will only find that out from the eternal judge.

This man however was not sentenced to death. With that in mind, why should my tax dollars pay for him to sit around in prison? I believe we need to go back to chain gangs, prisoners growing their own food or they don't eat, hard labor, etc. |

I get all warm and fuzzy in the presence of all this Christian compassion.
