How about some David Gilmour and Roger Waters/Pink Floyd

This is the best of the best that David Gilmour has to offer. You can buy David Gilmour in Concert on DVD and I have yet to meet anybody that did not like it. Heck my mom even liked a few parts and that is a major leap. It has a great mix of their music. Great to relax and get the old gray matter flowing with a good glass of red wine. ;) I did see them at Texas Stadium in 94 and it was a three hour forty five mineut concert of concerts. Lazer show that was far ahead of the times.

One of my favorite songs :
High Hopes

beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were young
In a world of magnets and miracles
our thoughts strayed constantly and without boundary
The ringing of the division bell had begin

Along the long road and on down the causeway
Do they still meet there by the cut

There was a ragged band that followed in our footsteps
Running before time took our dreams away
Leaving the myriad small creatures trying to tie us to the ground
To a life consumed by slow decay

The grass was greener
The light was brighter
With friends surrounded
The night of wonder

Looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind us
To a glimpse of how green it was on the other side
Steps taken forwards but sleepwalking back again
Dragged by the force of some inner tide

At a higher altitude with flag unfurled
We reached the dizzy heights of that dreamed of world

enumbered forever by desire and ambition
There's a hunger still unsatisfied
Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon
Though down this road we've been so many time

The grass was greener
The light was brighter
The taste was sweeter
The nights of wonder
With friends surrounded
The dawn mist glowing
The water flowing
The endless river
Forever and ever
What do you want from me

As you look around this room tonight
Settle in your seats and dim the lights
Do you want my blood, do you want my tears
What do you want
What do you want from me
Should I sing until I can't sing any more
Play these strings until my fingers are raw
You're so hard to please
What do you want from me

Do you think that I know something you don't know
What do you want from me
If I don't promise you the answers would you go
What do you want from me
Should I stand out in the rain
Do you want me to take a daisy chain for you
I'm not the one you need

What do you want from me
You can have anything you want
You can drift, you can dream, even walk on water
Anything you want

You can own everything you see
Sell your soul for complete control
Is that really what you need
You can lose yourself this night
See inside there is nothing to hide
Turn and face the light
What do you want from me

Elvis was awesome and that was a great video to watch. What male performer has made such an impact on music like he did? None if any. Thanks Guitarman!

I will give Elvis his due.. He certainly influenced many. I'm more of a fan of his earlier stuff.. But I would argue that there are plenty, before and after him who have influenced just as many. Personally I was always a big fan of Buddy Holly. and not to mention all those early 'un-named' blues musicians who helped to influence so much music.

But yes, Elvis certainly made a huge "impact", he sold plenty of records.

Thanks for the Keith Urban video! One of my favorites!! Elvis sure was a crossover singer in every genre and such an influence in American music!:)

Elvis the King ? He was one of the great musician and I like some of his music. The old gospel music when he was a young man is really good. Elvis stopped a concert one time while a entire row held up a banner that said
"Elvis is King" and he told them he was not the king but Christ was King then he finished his concert  It was said that Elvis was loved to "death" because he had no privacy and it drove him in the ground. Very sad for I think he was a good man over all and yes he had problems like everyone does and his were just in the media all the time. His music lives on and I hope his soul rest in peace :peace:
