Shreveport Has A New Police Chief
Col. Henry Whitehorn, state police commander, will serve as Shreveport's top law enforcement officer pending City Council approval. The head trooper said he has told Gov. Kathleen Blanco of his intention to return to the city he considers home to start his new job Aug. 1 after finishing up state business.

I heard Col. Whitehorn speak at Last Summers LSUS graduation. He is a very impressive person with a long history in criminal justice. I think he will do a great job as police chief.
|
I sure he can get a handle on the gangsters in Shreveport. I liked Wayne Smith and he should have been the man for the job  I hope this outsider will be able to get the rank and file to line up behind him.

For me, I liked the acting Chief Mike Vansandt. It's a shame he didn't want the job, but Whitehorn will do good things too!
